With so much going on, there is plenty to suit all ages including; a Christmas Market, Fagin's Real Ale Tavern, Dickensian-style snow covered streets, a traditional Father Christmas (dressed in green) and a wonderland of Victorian characters and entertainment.

Important information provided by the Historic Dockyard


  • Due to security, no facilities are available within the Historic Dockyard or its attractions to leave lunch boxes, bags, clothing or any other personal effects.

  • A First Aid room is situated in the Visitor Centre. Please contact the nearest member of staff if you need medical assistance.

  • Please do not use flash photography in the HMS Victory and the National Museum of the Royal Navy as the light can damage sensitive objects.Photographs for personal use may be taken in the Historic Dockyard but there may be further restrictions at each individual attraction. Please check upon arrival.

  • Smoking is not permitted within the attractions, on any wooden walkways or on board the ships.

  • There are toilets at the back of the restaurant in Boathouse No. 7, the National Museum of the Royal Navy, outside the Mary Rose Museum and Action Stations.

  • Accessibility: While efforts have been made to make Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as accessible as possible to all visitors, some areas may present difficulties to visitors who use wheelchairs, have restricted mobility or have visual or hearing impairments. Please telephone the Advanced Sales office with your access questions and requirements.
