Day 1

We depart for Lancashire, making comfort stops en-route including a suitable lunch stop. Arriving at the Foxfields Country Hotel this evening.

Welcome Tea/Coffee & biscuits will be available on arrival.

Day 2

Our first visit today to the beautiful Browsholme Hall and Gardens for a guided tour. The gardens are laid out in the style of Capability Brown. The Hall was built in 1512 and is the ancestral home of the Parker family to this day.

This afternoon we have a short drive to Riley Green Marina. Here we join the boat for a relaxing and peaceful cruise along the canal, with afternoon tea served on the way.

Day 3

Today we have a full day guided tour of Pendle Hill Country, hearing about the infamous witches. Downham was the setting for the 1961 film Whistle Down the Wind and also TV’s Born and Bred. We call at Barrowford Visitor Centre for a break before heading over Pendle Hill on our way to Clitheroe for a lunch break.

The day continues with a drive through the Britain in Bloom village of Chipping and on into the Hodder Valley with a break at the riverside tearooms in Slaidburn before heading back to the hotel.

Day 4

This morning we begin with a ride along the Ribble Valley to Longridge and north to the City of Lancaster, with its historic castle. We have time to explore and obtain lunch before we enjoy a ride through the beautiful Trough of Bowland with delightful scenery and pretty villages as we return for dinner and our final evening.

Day 5

We depart the hotel after breakfast, making our way home with comfort stops en-route and a suitable lunch stop, arriving back in East Sussex this evening.
