We head for Warwickshire, making comfort stops and a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arriving at Studley Castle late afternoon.EM
We have an excursion to Stratford-upon-Avon, home of the world's most famous playwright, William Shakespeare. With many half-timbered buildings from medieval times there is much to see in this market town steeped in history.FB, EM
Today we visit the Cotswolds villages of Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.
Ranked as one of the prettiest villages in the whole of the UK, Bourton-on-the-Water is frequently referred to as the ‘Venice of the Cotswolds’ due to the patchwork of attractive little bridges that criss-cross the River Windrush that flows through its centre.
The hilltop market town of Stow-on-the-Wold was once the site of an Iron Age fort, but things are considerably more peaceful here these days. In the centre of town, you’ll find a number of galleries and antique shops packed with treasures, while the region’s verdant hills are close at hand.
We have a day at leisure to relax and enjoy the facilities of the hotel.FB, EM
We depart the hotel after breakfast, homeward bound with comfort stops and a suitable lunch stop en-route. Arriving back in East Sussex late afternoon/early evening.
