Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and was the official residence of Her Majesty The Queen.
Windsor is still very much a working royal palace. The Castle is used regularly for ceremonial and State occasions. It is here that The Queen often hosted State Visits from overseas monarchs and presidents.
Whether your interest is in fine art, architecture or history, Windsor Castle offers an extraordinarily varied day out all on one site. The State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, including paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck and Holbein, Sèvres porcelain and exquisite English and French furniture.
